Hello.
I believe the way we care matters.
I’m Veronica Marin, a consultant and accredited social worker.
I work alongside organisations, teams and individuals to strengthen and transform practice so children and families receive the care and support they deserve.
I focus on closing the gap between what we know works and what we do - working with you to turn research into everyday practice that improves the lives of children and families. My approach brings together head, heart, and hand: thoughtful evidence, genuine care and kindness, and practical action. Because the way we care matters.
My Values.
For me, values aren’t just words - they are actions. I bring integrity to the way I work, place relationships at the centre of change, and collaborate with others to achieve stronger outcomes. I am committed to justice-doing, to fairness and dignity, and I practise stewardship by ensuring quality and making wise use of resources.
Above all, I strive to act with kindness in every interaction.
My services
I partner with organisations, teams, and individuals to put research into practice, improving how care is experienced by children and families.
-
I am a certified Professional TCI Trainer - I offer TCI-7, TCI-F and TCI-S training to your teams across Australia. You might choose to work with a professionally-certified TCI trainer to:
ensure high-quality TCI training for your staff
support your newly certified associate TCI trainers as they build their confidence and competence
deliver additional TCI curriculum content to your teams such as Post Crisis Response, Complex Needs and Neurodiversity or Non-Suicidal Self-Injury
Note: The Residential Child Care Project, Cornell University, certifies Professional TCI trainers. You can view the registry here.
-
I collaborate with you to design and review service models that connect evidence with everyday practice, ensuring they deliver real results. This includes developing program logics, service descriptions and evaluation frameworks.
-
Supporting children and families is complex and demanding work. Through trauma-informed supervision, I walk alongside individuals and teams to reflect, stay supported, and continue growing in how we show up for children, families and each other.
-
Training staff is only effective when it’s translated into everyday practice. I partner with your team in real practice contexts, helping staff translate the skills they’ve learned into observable practice changes that improve responses to children and families.
-
I collaborate with you to develop policies, procedures, and practice tools that are easy to use and understand, bridge the gap between research and everyday practice, and help guide teams in their work with children and families.
-
Real happens when people believe in what they can achieve together.
I facilitate group sessions, workshops, and planning days tailored to your needs, creating space for teams to think, learn, and plan collectively.

My qualifications and experience
I’ve spent more than 25 years working alongside children, young people, and families across schools, disability services, family therapy, and residential care. I’ve also held supervisory and practice leadership roles, supporting individuals and teams to deliver thoughtful, high-quality care. Over time, I’ve become especially interested in how we turn research and practice knowledge into good practice - what’s often called implementation science.
I hold a Bachelor of Social Work (2001) and a Masters of Counselling (2011), and I’m a Professionally Certified Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Trainer, through Cornell University.
I value my own professional development and maintain accreditation status with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
